Blue Brain Cell Atlas
The Blue Brain Cell Atlas is a comprehensive online resource that describes the number, types, and positions of cells
in all areas of the mouse brain. The user can download cell numbers for statistical analysis, download cell positions
and types for modeling and visualize brain areas.
Papers describing the generation and analysis of underlying data can be found at:
Erö et al. 2018,
Rodarie et al. 2023,
Roussel et al. 2023.
Our workflow uses imaging data from the
Allen Institute for Brain Science
to generate cell positions and assign their type, more specifically from the
mouse atlas
using the
API
for data access.
About EPFL’s Blue Brain Project
The aim of
EPFL’s Blue Brain Project a Swiss brain research initiative founded and directed by Professor Henry Markram, is to establish simulation neuroscience as a complementary approach alongside experimental, theoretical and clinical neuroscience to understanding the brain, by building the world’s first biologically detailed digital reconstructions and simulations of the mouse brain.
